If you're a young talent looking for a company where you can excel in your career, Storcan is the perfect place for you. We recently had the opportunity to speak with one of our talented employees, Michael Meynckens, who shared his experience and reasons for choosing a career at Storcan.

Michael started at Storcan almost 5 years ago, in November 2018. After studying business management at Cégep Lionel Groulx, he was eager to start working in the field and put into practice what he had learned. He was interested in the business world in general, including sales, marketing, HR, etc., but sales quickly attracted him for their social and challenging aspect. Additionally, he admits that he was influenced by a family member's career as a business owner and salesperson: "I wanted to think big, participate, and contribute to a company's evolution."

He started at Storcan as a sales intern, supporting the team in its projects and daily tasks. He quickly climbed the ranks to become a sales assistant, sales coordinator, and most recently a sales representative. In this role, he is responsible for developing new customer accounts, and offering them customized production line solutions to increase their productivity. In this position, he particularly enjoys being in contact with customers and developing business relationships with them. Additionally, Michael is strongly influenced in his work by his role as a coach for a Midget hockey team for 8 years. He enjoys the competition that exists to win sales.

Of course, he faces great challenges in his position. At 24 years old, in our industrial field, he faces older and more technically experienced people. This sometimes shakes his sense of legitimacy, and he feels he must continuously prove his skills. Fortunately, all projects at Storcan are worked on as a team, so he has the opportunity to work with more experienced colleagues to develop his expertise and knowledge.

What motivates Michael to excel in his work is the feeling of being able to evolve. He is able to take on increasingly complex projects, which allows him to continue to develop professionally. His favorite motivational phrase, "Fall in love with the process and your goal will become your reality," helps him stay motivated and keep his eyes on his goals while enjoying the process to get there.
